The drive from Ft. Hancock to Austin was not so bad. We both found the wide open spaces of W. Texas to be absolutely gorgeous. And we enjoyed the non-interstate drive though Hill Country to Austin.

It took about 6 hours to drive yesterday from 17th Street in Oakland to the Sunset Strip, including a lengthy lunch stop at a Denny’s somewhere on Highway 5.
